Last Saturday was one of those feel-good, heart-swelling kind of days. We had just come from Ykaie’s Recognition Day, and let me tell you—this dad was bursting with pride! Our panganay, our sweet and smart girl, walked up the stage to receive her High Honors award, plus she made it to the Bronze Seal Principal’s List! Grabe. Parang kailan lang she was just learning her ABCs, and now she’s up there making us all proud.
So of course, a celebration was in order! Ate Pinky treated us all for dinner at Tien Ma’s Taiwanese Cuisine. This spot never fails to hit the right spot when we’re craving something flavorful and a bit different.

We didn’t hold back —kumbaga, pig-out levels na ang dinner namin. Here’s what we had:
Xiao Long Bao (P310) – Of course, the star of any Taiwanese feast! That hot soup inside the dumplings? Parang magic, I swear. We had to remind ourselves to let them cool a bit unless we wanted to burn our tongues out of excitement.

Bola-Bola Siopao (P130) – Soft, fluffy siopao packed with savory meat. I had to battle Twinkle for the last bite. Guess who won? (Spoiler alert: hindi ako…)
Chicken Chow Mein (P335) – This one was a crowd-pleaser. Ykaie especially loved the chewy noodles and the tasty sauce. Perfectly cooked, with that nice wok hei flavor—alam mo ‘yung medyo smoky? Ganon!

General Tso’s Chicken (P335) – Sweet, spicy, crispy—this dish is dangerous. We were all picking at it like there was no tomorrow.
Fried Intestine (P380) – Now this one’s for the adventurous! Crispy, flavorful, and surprisingly addicting. One bite and I was hooked. It’s that kind of dish na mapapapa-“Ay, masarap nga ‘to ah!” even if you weren’t planning to try it.
Lahat ng inorder namin? Walang tapon. Everything was delicious, served hot and fresh, and the portions were generous. Saktong-sakto for a family celebration.
We ended the night full—both in our stomachs and in our hearts. Watching Ykaie shine and celebrating it with good food and good company? That’s what weekends are made for.
So to Ykaie—congratulations again, anak! Keep reaching for those stars. And to Tien Ma’s—thanks for being the cherry on top of our very special day.
Till the next food trip!
